Cast Your Vote for a New University Logo

Jan 17, 2019

Stop by Natali Student Center to view the two Cal U logo options designed by our own talented staff. See how they look in a variety of uses. Then cast your vote in person for the logo that you think best reflects California University’s true personality.

Question marks in word bubbles

Say good-bye to the old “red block” logo and tell us which of two new designs you prefer.

Last year the Cal U community weighed in on the Vulcan logo developed by branding specialists at Carnegie Dartlet.

Building on that extensive research, Cal U’s own creative services team is refreshing the University’s familiar “red block” design to give the Cal U logo a fresh and dynamic look.

After a series of creative sessions, discussions, focus groups and presentations, two options have emerged — and now it’s time for our students, faculty and staff to have their say.

The campus community is invited to vote for the Cal U logo they prefer between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, or Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Natali Student Center.

Stop by to view the two Cal U logo options designed by our own talented staff. See how they look in a variety of uses. Then cast your vote in person for the logo that you think best reflects California University’s true personality. (One vote per person, please!)

Staff from the Office of Communications and Marketing will be on hand to discuss the logos, answer your questions and record your comments. This new logo will be one of our University’s primary brand elements, so make your opinion heard.

When do we see the results?

Work on refreshing the Cal U’s athletics and University brand elements is nearly complete.

Mark your calendar for 11 a.m. Feb. 21, when the University’s new identity marks and the new Vulcan logo and wordmark will be revealed at a campuswide celebration.
