Cal U’s fundraising efforts have once again gained national recognition.

CASE, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Higher Education, has honored the Office of University Development and Alumni Relations with two Educational Fundraising Awards for 2020.

The division was recognized for Overall Performance as well as Overall Improvement in the category of Public Comprehensive Institutions with Endowments under $45 Million.

“For many students, a scholarship makes the difference in being able to enroll at Cal U and finish their degree,” said Anthony Mauro, vice president for University Development and Alumni Relations. “We are grateful to our donors, who care so deeply about their success. These awards are a testament to my dedicated staff, who all work hard to raise funds for the University and our students.”

Cal U is the one of only three universities in the nation to win two awards from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Higher Education in 2020 and the only university in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education to receive a fundraising award.

CASE bases its selection on a review of data submitted to its annual Voluntary Support of Education (VSE) survey. Among other characteristics, award recipients demonstrate “solid program growth” and “breadth in the base of support” for fundraising initiatives.

In 2019, CASE honored Cal U with the Educational Fundraising Award.
