The Student Activities Board at Cal U has been recognized for its exceptional programming by the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities.

The 2020 Boyd Jones Award for Programming Board of the Year was presented at the APCA national conference in Orlando, Fla.

Melissa Dunn, Director of Student Activities and Leadership for the Office of Student Affairs, was runner up for the APCA National Advisor of the Year.

APCA promotes campus engagement through educational experiences, affordable entertainment and community service initiatives. It is divided into five regions, and last year more than 2,000 students and higher education professionals from more than 600 schools attended APCA conferences and institutes.

In 2019, SAB won the Organization of the Year Award at the APCA Northeast Regional Conference in Teaneck, N.J., and Dunn was honored as the Northeast APCA Advisor of the Year.

The Boyd Jones Award for Programming Board of the Year Award is named for Jones, a well-known and respected programmer from Winthrop University. Criteria include the number and quality of events, resource management, association involvement and volunteerism.
