Spring Summit Fever: Prospects for Peace on the Korean Peninsula by Jenny Town
After more than a year of intense confrontation against North Korea’s nuclear weapons program development, the tide has turned to a now equally intense season of high level summitry. But can these high level meetings create the framework for meaningful and sustainable engagement on the Korean Peninsula or will this spring cool down in tensions be followed by a heated summer of fury?
Jenny Town is the Assistant Director of the US-Korea Institute at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and manages programs on North Korea, nuclear weapons, nuclear energy, US-ROK alliance and Northeast Asia regional security.
