Bamby Salcedo is an activist for the Transgender and Latina community. Growing up in Salcedo Guadalajara, Mexico, Salcedo faced many challenges, including growing up with a single mother and having an abusive step-father.[1]  Salcedo’s struggles continued after moving to the United States When she moved to the US, but she was able to get the help she needed to grow into the person she is today.[1]

Bamby is most known for her ground-breaking programs and advocacy organizations.[1] She works to help minorities affected by race, gender, sexuality, age, social class, HIV status, immigration status, and much more.[1] She is the President and CEO of the TransLatin@ Coalition, an organization dedicated to advocating for Trans Latin@ Community.[2] Bamby also founded Angels of Change, which raises money to help transgender youth in the Los Angeles area by creating safe spaces to experiment with their gender expression.[1] Salcedo also initiated the Trans Lives Matter National Day of action to address issues of violence that affect the transgender community.[1]
