GEO 383 Dark Tourism and Extreme Topics (3 credits)
This course explores some of the more extreme phenomenon of the tourism industry, which is one of the world's largest and fastest growing industries. This course will focus on growing special interest markets within the tourism industry with an emphasis on more extreme topics that touch upon death, destruction, and the macabre. In this course, students study the impacts of dark and extreme tourism development on the culture, society, economies, and the environment at different geographical scales. 

It also counts toward the required 42 upper division credits (300-400) level courses needed to graduate


This course is open to all undergraduate students, there are no pre-requisites
GEO 383 is offered 100% online over the 10 week summer semester starting June
3, 2019
