This is a reminder that the University will be closed on Friday, November 27, 2020. You may recall that the day after Thanksgiving is a holiday for AFSCME-covered employees.
The granting of this holiday has not been extended to managers or members of other bargaining units within the State System of Higher Education. Therefore, it will be necessary for you to use annual, personal or compensatory leave for that day.
The following represents the 2020 minor holidays which have been deferred to dates when the University is not at full operation.
Deferred Holiday Dates Offices are Closed
Presidents’ Day (02-17-20) Tuesday, December 22, 2020
Columbus Day (10-12-20) Wednesday, December 23, 2020
Veterans’ Day (11-11-20) Thursday, December 24, 2020
If you were eligible for minor holidays as they occurred, you will be paid for them during the Christmas break. For any minor holidays not earned (whether you were not employed at the time or you were on unpaid leave) you will need to use annual or personal leave in order to get paid for them.
