Wellness & Fitness

Classes begin Fall, Spring & Summer I Sessions Annually

The undergraduate Sport Management: Wellness and Fitness degree offering is 100% online.   This undergraduate program was created based on Cal U's extremely successful online graduate program in Exercise Science and Health Promotion.  There is no need to come to California's campus as the program is designed for busy people, including working health and fitness professionals, military personnel, and prospective students with an interest in the field.  The program will prepare students to work in Wellness and Fitness settings including gyms, fitness clubs, spas, corporate fitness, strength coaching, high school and collegiate athletics, and many other fitness, health, and wellness settings.  The 100% online program in Wellness and Fitness is designed for individuals who want an education in wellness and fitness, but cannot attend traditional on-campus classes.

Students are able to transfer general education credits into the program or take the program in a fully web-based format.  Please note:  We encourage our students to complete any outstanding general education and elective course requirements with Cal U.   Enrollment in these courses are on a first come first serve basis and classes do fill quickly, with the majority of these courses being offered in the summer term. In some instances, students will take certain courses online at other institutions with whom we have articulation agreements.  We have articulation partnerships with several community colleges that offer these same courses online,  Please contact Global Online for further details (1-866-595-6348).  Additionally, many program questions can be answered by visiting our FAQ list.

Students pursuing this academic program will be prepared to sit for a certification (Certified Personal Training Certification) offered by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

A cohort (35-40 students) matriculates in one of the three entry points, January, June, and/or August.  Enrollment is limited, so if you are interested in the program, please e-mail us immediately at  bsfitness@calu.edu and specify that you are interested in the Bachelor of Science - Sport Management: Wellness and Fitness Track.  For a detailed explanation of the cohort format and the sequencing of courses, please click on the course sequence links in the box to the left.

Thank You for your interest in our program!
