Graduate Assistantship Available 

at the

Faculty Professional Development Center



Graduate assistants working in the Faculty Professional Development (FPD) Center have come from a variety of majors. While there are basic qualifications and duties required by the position, each graduate assistant brings with him or her unique qualities and skills.  Therefore, efforts will be made to work with the graduate assistant to ensure that this 20-hour per week work experience in the FPD Center serves the graduate assistant’s professional and academic development in productive and meaningful ways.






  • strong written and verbal skills
  • strong interpersonal communications skills
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • strong organizational skills
  • extensive knowledge of computers and computer skills



  • familiarity with Web site design and management
  • desktop publishing experience (flyers, brochures, pamphlets, etc.)
  • experience with Microsoft programs (including Excel and Access)



Duties and Responsibilities


  • update information on the FPD website
  • monitor FPD computers and other technological devices to ensure they are in good working order, arranging for repairs when necessary
  • assist FPD Center coordinator and administrative assistant in developing print and online materials related to FPD programming and promotion
  • collaborate with FPD Center coordinator on special projects
  • perform other duties as assigned by the FPD center coordinator and administrative assistant
