The Department of Art and Design is inviting submissions for the show Animalia: from the Mythic to the Microscopic, running April 17th through April 24th in the Vulcan Gallery. The exhibition is open to students, faculty, alumni, and staff, campus-wide. Artworks in all mediums depicting or expressing ideas about animals will be considered. The show will include art, literature, and performance pieces concerning the Animal Kingdom from a variety of cultural or historical perspectives. Two entries per person are allowed. The exhibition will be curated and installed by students from Biological Illustration and Painting courses. Artworks (framed or matted and ready to hang), written works, and abstracts for performance pieces should be brought to the Vulcan Gallery on the first floor of Vulcan Hall by Thursday April 10, at 11:00am. All works will be eligible for prizes chosen by a panel of faculty judges. The Associated Artists of California will be hosting the opening reception with food and live music on Thursday, April 17 from 6-9pm.  For information about submissions please contact Maggy Aston at, Todd Pinkham at, or Art Club President Shannon Drudy at
