Cal U Global Online is proud to announce the launch of 2 new Land Management programs offered 100% online!

·         Bachelor of Arts Jurisprudence:  Land Management

·         Land Management Certificate

The Bachelor of Arts in Jurisprudence program has a core in Jurisprudence and concentration in Land Management and is designed for those who have an associate’s degree or a minimum of 40 semester credit hours.  The Certificate in Land Management is an accelerated program for students who have at least a high school diploma and are seeking additional education, experience and credentials to enter into the land management industry.

The program consists of 30 credits and may be completed in five semesters.

Dr. Christina Toras, Professional Studies Department Chair and GO Program Coordinator, developed the Land Management program after meeting with industry leaders who suggested that this area of study was necessary in the growing Oil & Gas Industry.  U.S. Energy Information Administration (August 8, 2013) has published that, “Oil and gas industry employment is growing much faster than total private sector employment.  In fact, statistics show that from 2007 to 2012, total U.S. private sector employment increased by more than one million jobs, about 1%.  Over the same period from 2007-2012, the oil and gas industry increased by more than 162,000 jobs, a 40% increase.”

Successful completion of this curriculum will equip students for a more challenging role in the oil and gas industry for positions to include:  staff landman, operations landman, in-house energy company support staff, third party contractor support staff, property manager, leasing manager, and title abstractor.

Applications are now being accepted for the Fall 2014 semester, which starts
August 25, 2014
.  Interested applicants should contact the Global Online office at 1.866.595.6348, or by sending inquiries about the program to landmanagement@calu.eduLearn more about the curriculum, suggested course sequence, and admission requirements by visiting the program website.
